WORLD PREMIERE OF THE
LEXUS LF-CC CONCEPT CAR
AT THE 2012 PARIS MOTOR SHOW
• LF-CC displays the latest evolution of the L-finesse design language and
signature spindle grille, to be reflected in future Lexus D-Segment
vehicles
• Announces the market launch of a mid-size coupe in the near future
• Features a new 2.5 litre full hybrid powertrain with class-leading CO2
emissions, which will be introduced soon in the Lexus model range
Exterior Design
The LF-CC showcases the latest evolution of the company’s unique L-finesse
design language, with the boldest yet interpretation of the signature Lexus
‘spindle’ grille. Framed by the bonnet lip, deep lower spoiler and powerfully
projecting front fender tips, the grille mesh is encased in a deep, metal-finish
surround and takes on a pronounced, 3D form. A unique, 3 LED-projector headlamp design is housed in the narrow gap between the lower and upper fender surfaces, without a conventional, one-piece cover. Independent Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are fully integrated
into the upper bumper surface to complete this unique new design.
The broad lower fenders are aerodynamically sculpted to manage the flow of
air to the engine bay and front brakes, whilst reinforcing the powerful,
dynamic road presence of the new Lexus signature frontal design.
In profile, the powerful convex curve of the bonnet flows seamlessly through
a steeply raked windscreen into a roofline which deliberately peaks towards
the rear of the cabin to emphasise the traction available from the vehicle’s
rear-wheel drive powertrain.
The bodywork is stretched tight between the front and rear fenders, and the
rear fender is less pronounced than that of the front, reinforcing the
concentration of vehicle weight over the driven wheels for maximum traction.
Further developing a design form initiated on the LF-LC concept and the
high-performance LFA, the sharply sculpted form of an airflow regulating fin
flows from underneath the side of the car and upwards through the rear
wheel arch. This aerodynamic detail is designed to increase downforce over
the driven wheels, further improving traction.
The airflow regulating fin merges with the falling roofline in a pronounced
rear spoiler integrated within the boot lid, seamlessly fusing design and
aerodynamic elements to give the vehicle its distinctive, coupe proportions.
To the rear, the full width bumper flows into the rear wheel arches to emphasise the LF-CC’s broad, powerful stance. Lexus-characteristic L-sharped combination lamps feature a layered, strongly three-dimensional design, and the lower, concave bumper section incorporates a full width
spoiler to further enhance rear-wheel drive traction. The rear r stop lamp is
nicely integrated into the shark antenna.
The LF-CC is finished in a new, ‘Fluid Titanium’ exterior colour, a metallic
finish with exceptionally high brilliance which combines sharp, bright
highlighting with dark shaded surfaces to reinforce the powerful forms of the
bodywork’s sculpted surfaces.
Interior Design
The LF-CC’s interior hints at the progressive luxury of a future Lexus model
cabin layout, and represents a further development of the company’s HMI
(Human Machine Interface) design philosophy.
The dashboard is divided into two distinct zones: an upper, Display Zone,
with a multi-display screen located at an ideal distance for at-a-glance
viewing, and a lower, Operation Zone, which allows access to the uniquely
designed shift lever and an innovative touch tracer display for remote
system control.
This clear division of zones creates a unique fusion of an airy, spacious cabin
and a sporting cockpit which places the emphasis on a snug, highly focused
driving environment. All functional driving components are consolidated in
the driver’s seat surroundings, combining outstanding ergonomics with
advanced HMI technologies.
The driver benefits from a low, highly focused driving position with a sporting, wide grip steering wheel, optimum pedal placement and high visibility instrument dials. The touch tracer display for remote system
control is located directly behind the shift lever for maximum comfort and
ease of operation.
Coordinating with the ‘Fluid Titanium’ exterior colour, the seats, door panels
and instrument binnacle hood are trimmed in a warm, elegant amber leather
finish. The extensive use of metallic finishes and soft touch materials
throughout reinforces the premium quality of the environment. The contrast
between the exterior and interior colour schemes gives the car an elegant
yet simultaneously sporting image.

North American International Auto Show
• Design study created at Calty to explore future of Lexus design
• Exterior highlighted by dynamic shapes, intriguing details and expansive use of glass
• Interior features high technology set off by organic shapes and materials
Exterior Design
The new Lexus LF-CC concept is undoubtedly a work of art and since Lexus has been rumored to offer a second version of their LF-A supercar, we think there's reason to believe that we will see elements of the LF-LC Concept in the second version. At the front of the concept, there’s a 3D sculpture form spindle grille with functional air intakes in the bottom corners of the grille, daytime running lights shaped like an "L", and vertical fog lamps that utilize a fading dot matrix pattern to suggest a sense of movement. The concept’s side is defined by lines that emphasize direction and motion while the glass roof features a lightweight, cantilevered pillar with a glass-to-glass juncture inspired by modern architecture. At the rear, the LF-Lc gets tail lamps inspired by the look of a jet, fog lamps repeating the fading dot matrix pattern of the front fog lamps, and integrated tail and fog lamps that repeat the "L" shape and lead the viewer’s eye down to the powerful Lexus quad exhaust.

Interior Design
The interior of the Lexus LF-Lc Concept combines the latest advanced technology with soft textures and organic shapes to create a driver-focused synergy of form and function. Lexus is offering a remote touch-screen device that allows the driver to comfortably operate controls without shifting position or altering line-of-sight.
The cockpit features twin 12.3-inch LCD screens that provide information and a navigation display. Inputs come from a touch-screen control board piercing the swept center console. The driver can control the audio system, climate controls, and navigation. Each door gets similar touch-screen surfaces that allow both driver and passenger to operate the windows, mirrors, seat adjustments, and personal entertainment settings.
Both the driver and passenger will enjoy lightweight, race-inspired front seats formed of multiple layers and repeat the interlacing curves that define the cabin interior. The rest of the interior combine smooth leather and suede, with brushed metal trim and wood accents.
LF - NX - A New Breed Of Lexus

Exterior Design
The LF-NX concept’s bold, striking and innovative exterior brings more distinctive and
sculpted styling to the premium compact crossover segment.
The front of the new concept is dominated by a strong interpretation of the Lexus spindle
grille. Both the chrome trim and grille mesh pattern increase in size as the grille widens through
the lower bumper area, to accentuate the concept’s wide front track and powerful stance.
The upper edges of the grille generate powerful lines which define the hood edges, while
the base is underscored by a chrome-finished underbody panel which expresses the crossover
concept’s off-road credentials.Extremely expressive, signature front lighting features three diamond-shaped LED headlamps and the independent Daytime Running Lights (DRL) first seen on the new IS sedan.
The DRLs are underscored by full-length LED strip turn signal lamps.
The lower bumper flows away from the spindle grille edges into vertical air intakes,
before projecting forward into a unique corner detail. This separates the bumper from the front
fender with an aggressive vertical cut detail that narrows to a point beneath the headlamp
clusters.
Both front and rear fenders are formed by a series of muscular, concave and convex
curves. The wheel arches incorporate black painted trim, hinting at the protective finish which
typifies an urban crossover. The door sills generate a more aggressive, angular interpretation of
the rising crease line first seen on the LF-CC concept.
Above the belt line, the Lexus profile combines with a steeply raked tailgate and integral
spoiler to create the sweeping silhouette of an athletic coupe.
The rear of the LF-NX is dominated by highly articulated lamp clusters which create an
instantly identifiable light signature. They extend the full depth of the bumper, creating a sharp,
aerodynamic trailing edge detail.
The Lexus LF-NX concept is finished in a new Brushed Metal Silver exterior color which
gives the striking impression that the bodyshell has been carved from a single piece of solid
metal.
Interior Design
In a continuation of the ‘Human Oriented’ L-finesse design concept realized in both the
LFA and new IS, the interior mirrors the LF-NX’s highly sculpted exterior styling. It features
bold, powerful forms which create a driver-focused cockpit within an ergonomically ideal
environment. The center console extends the full length of the cabin to bisect the rear seats. The
framework’s bright, brushed metal finish has also been applied to the driver’s instrument meters,
the steering wheel, the seat structure and the overhead console.
Reinforcing the LF-NX concept’s premium SUV credentials, the strength and refinement
of this carved metal surfacing is complemented throughout the cabin by black and Sunrise
Yellow leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and sophisticated blue instrument and
switchgear lighting.
Intuitive interaction with the vehicle’s switchgear and instrumentation is at the heart of
Lexus interior design. The LF-NX cabin features the ideal, upper display zone and lower
operation zone dashboard format perfected over successive Lexus generations.
The upper display zone features an exclusive driver’s instrument meter design.
The lower operation zone allows access to a new generation of touch-sensitive,
electrostatic switches on door trim, and the new Lexus Remote Touch Interface (RTI). The RTI
combines a touch tracer display with a new touch pad design for smooth and intuitive use, and an adjustable arm rest support comfort.

Exterior Design
The RC has been infused with deeply contoured lines, integrating the widest
and lowest application yet of the Lexus spindle grille. It is unique in the Lexus range
– 1.2-inches wider, 1.4-inches lower and 2.8-inches shorter in wheelbase than the
new IS sedan, providing a road stance that emphasizes the attraction of a luxury
two-door vehicle.
The unique headlamp design adopts the symbolic Lexus L-shaped motif
front and rear. There are two choices of aluminum wheels – a deeply sculpted 10-
spoke 19-inch and a muscular five-spoke 18-inch.
A new red exterior paint color is made brighter and shows more contrast
thanks to a new painting process.
Interior Design
Highly acclaimed sports concept vehicles have greatly influenced the RC
interior, making maximum use of contrasting colors, materials and lighting.
A purpose-built Lexus-first lighting package provides a great sense of
occasion, with illumination that reflects upwards, rather than downwards, to
envelop the cabin. High contrast interior colors emphasize design lines and
accentuate the elegant cabin. Genuine shimamoku wood highlights – the result of an
intense, layered wood production technique refined by Lexus – are used to
emphasize the surrounding trim.
The driver’s cockpit is divided into operational and display zones. The upper
zone houses the instrument panel and a seven-inch navigation screen while a layered
center console integrates a new Lexus-first Remote Touch Interface.
